Blood on the Moon

In the Practical Magic book series, the moon carries layers of meaning and function.  It's a keeper of time and seasons where spells are planned according to lunar phases.  New moons and full moons act as markers for powerful moments.  It's a source of magical energy and is a personal and emotional anchor.  And, for the Practical Magic movie lovers, blood on the moon is a vivid omen that foreshadows danger.

Blood on the Moon (the soap), however, is meant to protect against danger and negative energies.  It is made with Himalayan Rhubarb infused olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil and castor oil.  It includes madder root powder and activated charcoal powder and is scented with sweet orange, clove and cinnamon essential oils.

Himalayan Rhubarb
Himalayan Rhubarb is rich in antioxidants, tannins and other bioactive compounds.  It has anti-inflammatory properties, astringent effects and wound healing properties.  It is traditionally used in herbal medicine to cleanse and detoxify, as it carries energetic qualities of purification.

Madder Root Powder
Madder Root Powder is believed to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and astringent properties.  It is traditionally used to promote wound healing and is believed to have anti-aging benefits.  It is also believed to promote courage, strength and protection.

Activated Charcoal
Activated charcoal has detoxifying and exfoliating properties and is believed to ward off harmful energies.

Essential Oils:
Sweet Orange (to clear negative energy) has natural skin-brightening properties, provides antioxidant protection and has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
Clove (for spiritual cleansing and purification) - soothes irritated skin, tones and refreshes skin, antioxidant protection.
Cinnamon (for protection, cleansing, and attracting prosperity and abundance) - anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, and provides antioxidant protection.
