These are not added colorants. Vanilla fragrance oils contain a natural compound called vanillin, which reacts during the soapmaking process and gradually darkens over time. This process, known as vanilla discoloration, is completely normal and can range from light tan to deep chocolate brown depending on the amount of vanillin present in the fragrance.
